For a small island, Sri Lanka has many nicknames: Serendib, Ceylon, Teardrop of India, Resplendent Isle, Island of Dharma, Pearl of the Orient. This colourful collection reveals its richness and beauty, and the intensity of the affection it evokes in its visitors.

We travelled to Sri Lanka in November 2004 approximately 6 weeks before tradegy hit, by way of the tsunami on 26 December, 2004

Out hearts are broken, for many of the people we met on this journey are now dead, injured, no home or unemployed. Our hearts go out to our magnificant guide, Susil.
